Chinese Yuan Climbs in BIS Most-Traded Currency League: ChartBy
The proportion of currency trades involving the Chinese yuan doubled between 2013 and 2016, according to the Bank for International Settlements. The yuan was involved in 4 percent of trades in April 2016, the eighth highest globally, overtaking the Mexican peso to become the leading emerging-market currency.
