In Old Rivalry Versus France, German Stocks Play Catch Up: Chart

The French stock market has been bigger than the German one ever since Bloomberg started compiling the data in 2003. But in the past year, the total value of Germany’s equities has increased by more than $62 billion, while that of its neighbor has slipped. That puts the euro-area’s biggest economy on track to also become its largest stock market.
