U.K. Labour Conference to Go Ahead With New Security Firm

  • OCS Group Ltd agrees to protect conference at last minute
  • Two previous companies had been rejected by party supporters

Britain’s opposition Labour Party said its conference will go ahead with a third security company protecting it, after two other firms were rejected because they were unacceptable to the party’s membership.

The meeting planned to take place in Liverpool had been under threat, after the party rejected its usual security firm, G4S Plc, over links to Israel, and then the replacement company, Showsec International Ltd, because of its relations with trades unions.

The party said on Friday that it had contracted OCS Group UK Ltd. to provide the security instead.
