Several JFK Flights Canceled; AP Says Police Checking Shooting

John F. Kennedy International Airport listed several flights as canceled or delayed amid reports that police are investigating shots were fired.

All flights at the New York airport were canceled due to a shooting, Xinhua reported earlier, without citing anyone. Departure of flights from American Airlines, Air Berlin, Alaska were among those listed as canceled, according to the website.

The New York Police Department said officers are responding to John F. Kennedy International Airport following reports of shots fired, the AP reported. The NYPD said late Sunday night that they could not confirm whether any shots were actually fired.

No other information was immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
