Hichilema Leads in Zambia Vote With 27% of Areas Counted

These are latest verified results from Zambia’s Aug. 11 presidential election, released by the nation’s electoral commission in the capital, Lusaka.

The table shows support for the two leading candidates. About 6.7 million people registered to cast ballots. A candidate must win more than 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff. The partial results may not be an accurate indication of the final outcome.
