Faltering U.S. Dollar Lifts Most But Not All Currencies: Chart

Fourteen of 35 major currencies are within 2 percent of their year-to-date highs as the U.S. dollar rally that began in June loses steam on speculation that the Federal Reserve is done raising borrowing costs for now. Yet some legal tenders remain far away from their peaks: The newly free-floating Argentinian peso and the Brexit-battered British pound are both more than 10 percent off their strongest 2016 values, reached in January and June, respectively.
