JPMorgan Said to Hire Patel to Head European Loan Trading

JPMorgan Chase & Co. hired Rikesh Patel from Credit Suisse Group AG in London, according to two people familiar with the matter.

He will replace Leander Christofides, who was head of European loan trading until May, according to one of the people, who isn’t authorized to speak about it and asked not to be identified.

Patel left Credit Suisse this week after 12 years with the bank, where he was most recently head of distressed debt and leveraged finance trading for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said another person.

“There has been no decision made in terms of a replacement,” said Sofia Rehman, a spokeswoman for Credit Suisse in London. “In the meantime, Rikesh’s responsibilities have been assumed by the team.”

A spokesman for JPMorgan in London declined to comment on the move.
