Chilean CPI Falls to Top of Central Bank’s Target Range: Chart

After trading above target for most of the past two years, Chile’s inflation rate is now back within the central bank’s range. Prices increased 4.0 percent from the year earlier, compared with 4.2 percent the month before, adding to speculation policy makers will remove their tightening bias as economic growth weakens. The median estimate of 16 economists surveyed by Bloomberg was for inflation of 3.9 percent.
