Toshiba Wins Order to Build 34MW Solar Farm for Gunkul in Japan

Toshiba Corp. won a contract to build a 34-megawatt solar power plant near Tokyo for Thailand’s Gunkul Engineering Public Co. for 9 billion yen ($89 million).

The station, to be set up in Chiba prefecture, will start running by March 2019 and will be operated by a company financed by Gunkul, Tokyo-based Toshiba said in a statement Friday.

Toshiba will be in charge of engineering, procurement and construction for the plant, according to the statement.
