Bank of England Says EBA Tests Show U.K. Banks Have Resilience

The Bank of England said the European Banking Authority stress tests provide evidence of resilience.

“The results for the four banks are consistent with those of previous Bank of England stress tests,” the BOE said in a statement in London. “They provide evidence that major U.K. banks have the resilience necessary to maintain lending to the real economy, even in a macroeconomic stress scenario.”

The tests focused on four U.K. banks: Barclays Plc, HSBC Holdings Plc, Lloyds Banking Group Plc, and Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc.
