Oil Companies’ Second Quarter Could Be as Good as It Gets: Chart

For oil companies, the second quarter might be as good as it gets. Royal Dutch Shell Plc and BP Plc are likely to report the highest profit in at least three quarters helped by cost cuts and crude’s recovery from a 12-year low, analyst estimates show. The rest of 2016 could be less rosy as faltering demand growth and rising production temper oil’s rally and halt the surge of the MSCI World Energy Index, the best-performing industry group of the last quarter.
