France to Loan Artillery to Iraq to Fight Islamic State

President Francois Hollande said that France will loan artillery to Iraq to combat the Islamic State and move the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier to the region.

Speaking in Paris after a defense council meeting, Hollande pledged to act “firmly” against terrorists without loosing sight of the country’s democratic ideals.

“We need national unity and cohesion in the face of terrorists,” Hollande said. “To dodge the constitution would be to lose the fight against terrorism.”
