The pound stayed lower against the dollar even as a report showed U.K. inflation accelerated more than economists forecast in June. While the currency initially pared losses after the report, which showed the rate rose to 0.5 percent from 0.3 percent in May, the respite proved temporary, with the currency about 0.5 percent lower as of 9:50 a.m. London time.
