Dear Hillary or Donald, You Win a Major Debt Problem: Chart

A projection of U.S. debt that doesn’t account for Brexit reveals a worsening outlook for the next president to inherit as the Congressional Budget Office on Tuesday said it sees it rising to 122 percent of gross domestic product by 2040, 15 percentage points more than year-ago predictions. If the cost of servicing that debt rises it may eat into what’s left of the nation’s economic resources, leaving millennials in the lurch.
