Galaxy S7 Gives Samsung a Boost

Samsung Electronics Co. has been hoarding cash even after two years of sliding sales. With the company on a rebound thanks to Galaxy S7 smartphones, analysts expect a boost to capital spending of at least $5 billion to sustain a revival across its memory chip and display businesses. Earnings due Thursday are expected to show quarterly operating profit rose about 7 percent to 7.4 trillion won ($6.4 billion).
