A video that appears to show two white police officers shooting dead a black man outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, prompted protests Tuesday night and caused an outpouring of anger over social media.
The video appears to show 37-year-old Alton Sterling standing with his back to a parked car, and two officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department yelling for him to get on the ground. A loud pop can be heard, and an officer tackles Sterling.
