As Carney Reaches for the Trigger, Gold Tops 1,000 Pounds: Chart

Gold in sterling has rallied back above 1,000 pounds an ounce after Bank of England Governor Mark Carney signaled looser policy to deal with the fallout from Britain’s historic and disruptive vote to quit the European Union. The precious metal priced in the U.K. currency surged to as much as 1,004.24 pounds an ounce on Friday. It reached 1,012.81 pounds an ounce on Monday as the implications of the referendum sank in.
