Corbyn Announces Appointments to U.K. Labour Shadow Cabinet

U.K. Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn named 10 appointments to his team, after a dozen of his spokespeople quit on Sunday, citing his weak leadership and failure to galvanize the party’s supporters to vote to remain in the European Union in last week’s referendum.

Corbyn named Emily Thornberry as his foreign affairs spokeswoman, replacing Hilary Benn, who he fired on Sunday. Diane Abbott was appointed health spokeswoman, replacing Heidi Alexander, who resigned on Sunday, while Pat Glass was named education spokeswoman.
