Pound Drops More Than 5 Percent, Heads for Record Decline: Chart

The drop for the pound accelerated as early results from the U.K. referendum came in. Against the dollar, the pound fell as much as 5.8 percent, a record drop. The losses for sterling began as returns from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and Sunderland showed greater support for leaving the bloc than academics had forecast.
