Jones Day’s Leake, Laukitis Leave Law Firm for Skadden Arps

Paul Leake, the global head of the business-restructuring and -reorganization practice at Jones Day, has left the law firm to join Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP.

Leake will be co-head of Skadden’s corporate-restructuring group with Jay Goffman. In addition, Lisa Laukitis, a partner in Jones Day’s restructuring group, is also joining Skadden, Goffman said.

Goffman said Leake has helped build “one of the top practices” in corporate restructurings and reorganizations. “The experience he and Lisa bring to our practice is a perfect match for our existing capabilities,” he said in a statement sent to Bloomberg.

Bruce Bennett will become the new head of restructuring at Jones Day, according to people with knowledge of the matter, who asked not to be named because the move hasn’t been made public.

Laukitis declined to comment. Leake, Bennett and Dave Petrou, a spokesman at Jones Day, didn’t immediately respond to requests seeking comment.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
