ECB’s Sub-Zero Rates Not All Negative as Germany Bickers: Chart

The lower European Central Bank President Mario Draghi cuts interest rates in the 19-nation currency bloc, the louder criticism has become that his unconventional policies are expropriating savers. Politicians in Germany, the region’s largest economy, are particularly vocal. What they often overlooked is that together with interest income, interest payments have also dropped, keeping net interest income as a percentage of gross disposable income virtually unchanged.
