U.S. Accuses Forex Trader of Deceiving Clients, Hiding Losses

More than 30 investors were scammed out of at least $14 million in a Ponzi scheme orchestrated by a New York City-based money manager, federal authorities said.

Haena Park is accused of cheating friends, family and former Harvard classmates by touting her supposedly profitable futures and foreign-currency trading strategy, federal prosecutors and the Securities and Exchange Commission said in related criminal and civil cases on Thursday.

Instead, she incurred heavy trading losses “month after month,” the SEC said.
