Bank of Canada Names Sheryl King as Adviser in New York

The Bank of Canada named Sheryl King as a New York-based adviser to Governor Stephen Poloz.

King’s prior jobs included Managing Director at Roubini Global Economics and Chief Economist and Strategist at Merrill Lynch Canada, the Ottawa-based central bank said in a statement Thursday. She had also served previously for eight years at the Bank of Canada as an economist and in the financial markets department.

“I am delighted to welcome Sheryl King back to the Bank and to our senior management team,” Poloz said in the statement. “Her extensive background in U.S. economic and financial market analysis, together with her well-established professional network in New York and beyond, will benefit the Bank greatly.”

The appointment is effective on July 5.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
