Transportation attacks caused most deaths 2002-14 in U.S., Canada and western Europe

The bloodiest terror targets in the U.S., Canada and western Europe have been transportation hubs, with the March 22 bombings at an airport and subway in Belgium only the latest. Despite making up a low percentage of attacks, transportation targets were the deadliest. Since 2002, more than half of the 485 terror deaths were linked to transportation, even though those attacks represented less than 5 percent of all 2,033 attacks.
