U.K.’s Brown Says EU Clout Only Way to Break Tax-Haven Deadlock

Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown made the case for Britain staying in the European Union in a speech Wednesday, arguing that “the only way to break the deadlock on tax havens is using the whole clout” of the 28-nation bloc.

Brown also said that “we need the cooperation of countries right across Europe if we are able to deal with the biggest threat that comes from terror.”

The former Labour Party leader was speaking at the London School of Economics.
