U.S. Hourly Wages a Bright Spot in April Jobs Report: Chart

While the April jobs report added the fewest number of workers in seven months, there was one bright spot: wages. Average hourly earnings climbed 0.3 percent from the prior month after a 0.2 percent advance. Worker pay increased 2.5 percent over the 12 months ended in April after a 2.3 percent gain a month earlier.
