Noble Said to Hire LNG Trader From Total as It Rebuilds Desk

  • Idoia Monje Norte to join in summer as head of LNG business
  • Ex-Glencore executive Montilla was first hire for revamed desk

Noble Group Ltd. made a second hire for its liquefied natural gas desk in London as Asia’s biggest commodity trader is rebuilding its team, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation.

Idoia Monje Norte, a Total SA LNG trader, will join Noble in the middle of the summer as LNG business head, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the information is private.

Monje didn’t respond to messages sent via LinkedIn Corp. or telephone calls to Total in London. Noble and Total declined to comment.

Noble is hiring people for its LNG desk after two co-heads, Alejandro Sanchez Gestido and Gabriel Gonzalez Laguna, left this year to join Glencore Plc. They helped restart Noble’s buying and selling of the super-chilled gas from London in 2014.

Lou Montilla, a former Glencore executive, joined Noble this week to focus on LNG business development initiatives.
