Brexit Woes Defied as Foreign Investors Stock Up on Gilts: Chart

Foreign investors bought a net 7.8 billion pounds ($11.4 billion) of U.K. government bonds in March, the highest level of purchases since November 2015, the Bank of England said on Friday. That follows the biggest back-to-back net sales since April 2014, and allays fears that overseas investors would abandon gilts in the run-up to the nation’s June 23 vote on its European Union membership.
