Japan's Inflation Markets Give Thumbs Down to BOJ Efforts: Chart

Japan’s 10-year zero-coupon inflation swap is trading well below levels set just before the Bank of Japan unexpectedly adopted negative interest rates on Jan. 29. The inflation swap was at 0.21 percent on Wednesday as the stronger yen negates Governor Haruhiko Kuroda’s efforts to boost prices. The central bank meets to review policy on Thursday.
