GE and Trina Solar to Jointly Develop 14-Megawatt Japan Project

Trina Solar Ltd., the world’s biggest photovoltaic manufacturer, is working with General Electric Co.’s energy financing unit to develop a 14-megawatt power plant in northern Japan.

GE Energy Financial Services will own 85 percent of the solar farm in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, the Changzhou, China-based solar company said in a statement Monday.

Construction is scheduled to begin this month and will be completed by June 2017. A committee of two representatives from each company will manage the plant.
