China’s surging chicken prices are making poultry farmers among the best performers on the nation’s stock exchanges. Broiler-meat prices have climbed after local output fell last year and the government banned imports from the U.S. and France following outbreaks of bird flu. Two of the nation’s largest providers of chicken meat have more than doubled in the past six months, while the Shanghai Composite Index has tumbled 12 percent.
