Spain Core Inflation Up in Biggest Differential Since '09: Chart

Spain’s core inflation accelerated in March while consumer prices on an EU-harmonized basis trailed, marking the biggest differential between the two indicators since July 2009. BNP Paribas noted the pick-up in domestic consumption that’s driving the recovery is also helping lift prices as Spaniards spend more on leisure and culture activities such as visiting museums. Core inflation strips out volatile elements like energy.
