Qantas Plane Makes Emergency Medical Landing in Oman, SMH Says

A Qantas plane made an emergency descent to land in Muscat, Oman, after a passenger suffered a suspected heart attack during a flight from Melbourne to London on Friday, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

The male passenger died before the plane was able to land, the newspaper said, citing an unidentified fellow passenger. The Airbus A380 was delayed in Oman for four hours before leaving for Dubai, according to the Herald.

Qantas confirmed the landing was caused by a medical emergency, the newspaper reported, citing an unidentified spokeswoman for the airline. The spokeswoman told the Herald that the crew worked with a doctor who was on board to attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the passenger.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
