HSBC CEO Stuart Gulliver says China has the tools to ensure a soft landing in its economy. He says fears over China are understandable but overstated. He told the HSBC China and RMB Forum in Hong Kong that the country's GDP target is not unambitious.

Bloomberg First Word Asia broadcast live from the conference; Bryan Curtis began by asking Nobel laureate Michel Spence if he agreed with Gulliver's comments.
