Spanish Political Logjam Hits Consumers as New Vote Looms: Chart

Spanish consumer confidence fell to a 14-month low in March, according to new data by state pollster CIS, as politicians struggle to piece together a government after an inconclusive election in December. If no candidate succeeds in forming a coalition by May 2, a fresh vote will be called for June 26. Even that may not end the uncertainty: polls so far show no single party getting a majority even in the case of a repeat election.
