Investors Pull Out of Russia ETFs in 2016 as Stocks Rally: ChartBy
While the dollar-denominated RTS index has been one of the world’s best performers in 2016, investors have exited exchange-traded funds betting on Russian equities at the fastest pace in three years. They withdrew about $90 million from the ETFs in the first quarter even as the RTS gauge jumped 16 percent. Traders poured $188 million into the ETFs, among the biggest inflows in emerging markets, when Russian stocks tumbled in the fourth quarter of 2015.
