Singapore Budget More Likely to Hurt Than Help Stocks: Chart

Straits Times Index returns in one month after budget was released generated negative or nearly flat returns 11 out of 14 periods since 2002, according to Bloomberg data. The returns have narrowed significantly over the last four years. Analysts see relief amid labor pains when Singapore’s Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat delivers the budget for fiscal year starting April 1 on Thursday.
