Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni agreed to hold another round of talks on a proposed regional oil pipeline after “fruitful discussions” on Monday.
The leaders will meet in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, in two weeks, Kenya’s presidency said in an e-mailed statement. In the meantime, technical officials will assess the least-cost option for the pipeline, address “constructibility issues” along proposed routes for the conduit, and consider the viability of ports in Kenya and Tanzania as export options, it said.
