Asian stocks traded in a narrow range ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy update. Also, Japan’s central bank chief floated the prospect of further interest-rate cuts. Crude oil rebounded with some industrial metals.

On First Word Asia, Bloomberg's Doug Krizner and Bryan Curtis asked Cumberland Advisors chairman David Kotok if the weak February U.S. retail sales report, out Tuesday, was a blip or the start of something serious.
