SunEdison Finance Chief Wuebbels Exiting to Focus on TerraForm

  • Ilan Daskal appointed to replace Wuebbels by April 4
  • TerraForm management criticized for lack of independence

SunEdison Inc. Chief Financial Officer Brian Wuebbels plans to shed that role to focus full time on its two power-plant holding company units, TerraForm Power Inc. and TerraForm Global Inc.

Ilan Daskal, 50, was designated to replace Wuebbels at the struggling clean-energy developer by April 4, Maryland Heights, Missouri-based SunEdison said in a statement Friday. He was previously CFO at Aricent Inc., an engineering services company.

SunEdison and its separately traded TerraForm yieldco units have come under fire from investors, including billionaire hedge fund manager David Tepper, for appearing to favor the interests of the parent company.

“As we navigate through the challenges faced by the company, his experience will be invaluable,” SunEdison Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Chatila said in the statement.
