IHI to Build 49MW Woody Biomass Power Station in Kagoshima

IHI Corp., a Japanese maker of heavy equipment, will build a 49-megawatt woody biomass power plant in the southwestern prefecture of Kagoshima.

Construction will begin this year and the plant will start generating power by the end of 2018, IHI said in a statement posted on its website.

The station will produce enough electricity to power 77,000 homes, according to the statement.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
