Taylor Swift won three Grammy Awards, including her second Album of the Year, as she edged out rapper Kendrick Lamar for the record industry’s top prize.
Swift, 26, also won Best Pop Vocal Album for “1989” Monday night, completing her transition from a country darling to one of the most powerful pop stars in the world. Swift moved to Nashville as a teenager to pursue a career in country music, and had previously won five country awards. She’s the first solo female artist to get the honor a second time.
