Dark Pools' Market Share Drops for First Time in Europe: ChartBy
European dark pools traded more stocks by value last year than ever before, but their share of overall trading fell for the first time, according to a report from Rosenblatt Securities Inc. The decline may signal that their portion of dark trading will stop growing, limiting the platforms’ share to between 5 percent and 7 percent, the report said. The shift comes even before European regulators impose restrictions on off-exchange transactions, curbing dark trading in each security to 8 percent of total volume.
