Three Malian Soldiers Killed, Two Injured in IED Explosion

Three Mali soldiers were killed and two others were injured when an army patrol vehicle hit an improvised explosive device in Mondoro town, Defense Minister Hubert Tiéman Coulibaly said in an e-mailed statement.

Islamist militants affiliated to al-Qaeda killed dozens of people in November after attacking a Radisson Blu hotel in the Mali capital, Bamako. In January, the group killed more than 30 at a hotel in Burkina Faso’s capital.
