Deutsche Bank Looks to Ease 'Coco' Bond Concerns

Short interest in Deutsche Bank AG climbed to almost 2 percent of shares outstanding from about 0.5 percent in mid-January, according to data compiled by Markit Ltd. That compares with an average 2.7 percent short interest for companies in the benchmark Stoxx Europe 600 Index. Money manager Carmignac Gestion SA had short position valued at $40.8 million, according to a filing by the firm on Oct. 27. A spokesman for Carmignac Gestion declined to comment. Deutsche Bank dropped about 40 percent this year.
