Jose Canseco Is Tweeting About the Bank of Japan's Negative Rates. He Is Not a Fan

"Dumb move."

Last week the Bank of Japan made waves in markets by unexpectedly joining the negative interest rate club in its attempt to stoke inflation.

It appears the dip into sub-zero rates is turning heads outside of financial circles.

Former Major League Baseball star Jose Canseco has started tweeting about the BoJ move, using the social media platform to vent his frustration.

He's particularly skeptical of the idea that going into negative territory will help Japan reach 2 percent inflation.
