Rouhani Says Iran Taking Part in Talks With U.S. on Syria: Monde

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who visited Paris this week, told French daily Le Monde that his country is taking part in talks on Syria with the U.S., which sees Iran as the region’s only power capable of tackling terrorism.

Everyone needs to fight terrorism, Rouhani told Le Monde. “We are not ready to accept insecurity in Iraq, Syria and even in Afghanistan. Insecurity in these countries could spread to others.”

Time will be needed to resolve all the differences that remain between Iran the U.S., Rouhani said in the interview.
