Trina Shipping 57.1 Megawatts of Modules to Japan Solar Project

Trina Solar Ltd., the largest manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, began deliveries of 57.1 megawatts of panels to a solar project in northern Japan.

Shipments to the Furukawa Mega Solar Project in Miyagi Prefecture are expected to be complete at the end of the third quarter and the plant will be complete the following quarter, Changzhou, China-based Trina said in a statement Thursday.

Pacifico Energy K.K. is developing the project on an abandoned golf course in Osaki City and Toyo Engineering Corp. is building it. Tohoku Electric Power Co. has agreed to buy the output.
