Smokers Ask for Mandated Cancer Tests in Trial Over Marlboros

Ex-smokers asked for cancer screening in a trial in which their lawyer called Marlboro cigarettes an “unreasonably dangerous product.”

“There has been no other product in the history of humankind that remotely approaches the danger of this product,” said Steven J. Phillips, an attorney for plaintiffs in the class-action suit. “There is no product other than this product that when used in its normal fashion kills half the people who use it.”
