Visa Names Time's Lynne Biggar to Vacant Chief Marketing Post

Visa Inc., the world’s biggest payments network, named Lynne Biggar as chief marketing and communications officer, filling a position on the operating committee that’s been vacant since April.

Biggar is a former executive vice president of consumer marketing at Time Inc., Foster City, California-based Visa said Wednesday in a statement. Before that, she held various marketing positions at American Express Co., where she worked for 20 years, according to the statement.

Biggar takes the role that was last held by Antonio Lucio, who left the company in April to join Hewlett-Packard Co.’s printer business. Visa spent $872 million on marketing in the 12 months ended Sept. 30, according to its quarterly report. The marketing and ad budget, which Biggar will oversee, is among the largest in the financial-services industry, analysts have said.
